Department of Satellite Space and Sciences

About Us

Astronautical Engineering

The Department of Astronautical Engineering was established in 2011.

The Department of Astronautical Engineering aims to train engineers who design manned and unmanned aerospace vehicles and rockets that will put them into orbit, calculate mission and route plans, constantly control them, and enable them to fulfill their duties in civil and military organizations.

The purpose of the Department of Astronautical Engineering is to provide economic, scientific and technological services and products from aerospace around the world. The working area of the Department of Astronautical Engineering is aviation, space and satellite technologies.

The importance of Astronautical Engineering and the interest in technologies in this field are increasing day by day all over the world. This situation reveals the necessity of following, applying and adapting the developments in this rapidly developing technology in our country. In this context, as our university, we aim to realize the mission of raising curious, numerically thinking individuals who can bring various approaches to problem-solving in order to follow space and satellite technology. As part of this mission, we have activated Astronautical Engineering within our university. The basic principle of our department is to bring qualified human power and R&D personnel consisting of experts, engineers and scientists in the field of Astronautical Engineering, which our country needs.

“We will build the future by dominating the sky and beyond with determination, belief and national technology moves...”

In our department, it is aimed to provide our students with competence in areas such as space and satellite technologies, communication, defense, navigation, spacecraft propulsion and control systems, meteorological observation techniques, and especially satellite electronics and communication. In this context, we aim to design spacecraft and satellites serving all kinds of purposes, launch and orbit planning and develop electronic communication systems on behalf of our country. Technology sub-titles for the development of techniques such as rockets, space shuttles, probes, artificial satellites, planet-satellite communication in space and satellite engineering can be counted as follows:
