DEPARTMENT of TRADITIONAL TURKISH ARTS

About us
The Department of Traditional Turkish Arts was established in 2013.
It consists of various sub-departments such as Calligraphy, Illumination and Miniature Art, Painted Decoration, Old Tile Repair, Binding and Manuscript Repair, Carpet, Rug, and Old Fabric Patterns.
The department aims to train visionary artists who have learned their art in its original form and can apply it theoretically and practically with the education which they receive from the experts in the field of Traditional Turkish Art.
The Department of Traditional Turkish Arts aims to train innovative and internationally respected individuals who not only follow the classical rules but are also sensitive to scientific developments. The department also aims to carry the traditional arts into the future while handing down the next generations.
 
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide an education in the light of scientific, artistic, and cultural developments at the national and international level while gaining different perspectives on science and art using the universal language of art. At the same time, the school has adopted the deep-rooted Turkish culture, sharing, participatory, self-sacrificing, combining the knowledge from the past with modern possibilities, raising talented artists/researchers with an investigative spirit is to keep the Turkish Art alive while developing and representing it at the highest level.
 
Our Vision
Our vision is to protect the traditional Turkish art and culture, to bring back our cultural values to the society, to create new original designs by using the technologies of the past and the present without breaking with tradition in order to educate conscious generations.
