About Us

Necmettin Erbakan University School of Foreign Languages was established as per the Decree No. 6005 of the Council of Ministers on 14.07.2010. In accordance with Article 5/i of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, the SFL carries out the common compulsory and elective foreign language courses of all faculties and vocational schools that are affiliated to Necmettin Erbakan University and the foreign language preparatory program (consisting of German, English and Arabic languages). Our school is located in Necmettin Erbakan University Meram Campus and continues its education with a total of 24 academicians, including 5 assistant professors and 19 instructors.

The preparatory programs of our school offer one-year intensive language program that enables new students to utilize their language skills efficiently and effectively at the levels recommended by the Common Language Regulation of the European Council during their academic studies and postgraduation professional life.

The main purpose of the SFL is to provide opportunities to the students studying at Necmettin Erbakan University to use all resources related to their academic studies effectively and to be able to use the foreign languages that they study in their social lives by verbal and written communication. Our school considers the necessity of constant evaluation and renewal of itself in order to fulfill the needs of students in a better way and performs works in this context. In our school the SFL library has already been established, and in order to improve speaking skills of our students, the efforts for establishing a digital library continue. Our school moved to a web-based exam system in 2019 and so exams are held digitally by using 200 computers available in our laboratories. Moreover, our students and staff are offered language training by means of the opened courses in English, German, French, Arabic and Persian.

The SFL intends to help students to develop their target language effectively during their academic studies, their business and social lives and gain necessary knowledge, skills and confidence.
