Researches and new discoveries realized in different disciplines of life sciences and rapidly developing information technologies affect biology education and reveal new expansions and needs. In the last two decades, great advances in molecular biology and gene technology have been the driving force behind rapid change and progress in biotechnology, and this technology has become increasingly inclusive and influential in a greater number of industries and service sectors. Many areas of life, from human health to agriculture, from chemical engineering to environmental protection, from food production to energy production, are within the scope of this technology. Developments in molecular biology have also led to revolutionary developments in the areas of environmental, energy and food production. If all these developments can not be actively pursued, it is obvious that the dependency of our country on developed countries will increase. Today it is difficult to admit that these developments of our country are difficult to trace except for some individual efforts. The development of modern biotechnology in our country and contribution to social refinement can only be achieved by the development of research power in molecular biology and the achievement of industrial feasible results. The establishment of institutions that provide quality molecular biology and genetic education for this is a necessity to be developed so that the established ones can respond to the needs of today.

"Necmettin Erbakan University Science Faculty Molecular Biology and Genetics undergraduate program aims to train qualified human power for the primary application of molecular biology and to increase university-industry cooperation."
