TRAINEESHIP MOVEMENT – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I want to participate in Erasmus+ Traineeship Movement. What should I do?
After you prepared all the documents including the acceptance/invitation letter from the receiving institution, you can apply to the mobility by filling the online application form on our website. You should follow the website regularly to be updated. While applying, do not forget that you must be completed at least two semesters if you are an undergraduate student, and at least one semester if you are a graduate student by the beginning of your internship.

I am graduating this year. Can I still participate in traineeship mobility?
You can participate in the mobility as long as you complete it within the 12 months after graduation.

I have participated in Erasmus+ mobility (traineeship or study) before. Can I participate again?
Yes, you can. However, if you are applying to the mobility within the same study cycle (undergraduate/graduate/doctorate), you will be evaluated after your overall score is decreased by 10 points.

Which countries are available for traineeship mobility?
Countries where you can do your internship: Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Macedonia.


Can I do the internship only at the contracted institutions?
No, you can do your internship wherever you want.

What kinds of institutions are suitable for internships?
You can do your internship at education and research centers, businesses, and non-governmental organizations. Agencies of the European Union and the institutions established by EU grants and conducting EU programs are exceptions. If you are not sure that the institution you want to do internship meets these conditions, you can contact the Erasmus office.

Can I do an Erasmus+ Internship besides the compulsory internship of my diploma program?
Yes, you can. Erasmus+ Traineeship Movement is open for all our students regardless of the requirements of their diploma program.

Do I have to speak a foreign language?
You must provide a document that shows your English language qualification while applying to Erasmus+ mobilities. If you do not have a score from the exams YDS, YÖKDİL, IELTS, or TOEFL you can participate in the language exam of our university.
The institution that you will do your internship at may require you to speak another foreign language. However, our university has no such requirements.

How can I find an internship opportunity?
Finding the internship institution is entirely the responsibility of the students. The internship calls that our university received are announced on our Erasmus page. You can also find internship opportunities from the websites below.

Our university does not guarantee the reliability of the internship institutions you will find on these web pages. Please ignore the institutions that request money for any reason (visa, deposit, application fee, etc.).

How long should the internship be?
Duration of internship under Erasmus+ Traineeship Mobility can be a minimum of 60 days and a maximum of 12 months. Although the minimum duration (60 days) is fixed, our university has the right to shorten the maximum duration (12 months) according to the available quotas.

How are candidates evaluated?
Averages of the GPA and language test scores of the candidates are evaluated. A list of genuine and substitute students is created accordingly. For special conditions in the evaluation of the scores, click.

What are the application documents?
The required documents are as listed below:
  • Online Application Form
  • Acceptance/Invitation Letter from the receiving organization
  • Language Qualification/Score
  • Transcript (stamped)
  • Student Certificate
  • Europass CV (You can create your Europass CV on https://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/tr/documents/curriculum-vitae)
  • Other complementary documents (martyr’s/veteran’s relative, disability)
How can I receive a grant and how much is it?
Among the applicants, the students who are specified as the genuine candidate in the list made according to the language score and academic average are entitled to receive a grant. Grants are designed to be a contribution and may not meet all your needs during the internship. The amount of grants are determined by European Union and National Agency according to the living standards of program countries. For up-to-date amounts of grants, click.

Will Erasmus+ pay for my travel expenses (ticket, passport, visa, etc)
No. Travel, passport, and visa procedures and expenses are students’ responsibility.

Will Erasmus Office/the university find me accommodation?
No. You should find your accommodation on your own. If you contact your receiving organization, they may help you find a place near the office.

I was declared a genuine candidate, but I decided not to participate. What should I do?
You should inform the Erasmus Office about your withdrawal within the announced withdrawal dates. Otherwise, when you apply to an Erasmus mobility again, your overall score will be decreased by 10 points.

Can I do an Erasmus+ internship without a grant?
Yes, you can. However, you still need to apply for mobility and get through all the other processes.

What should my insurance cover?
Your insurance must cover health, accident, and liability. Please be careful about the coverage of your insurance. For detailed information, you can contact the Erasmus Office.

My diploma program has a compulsory internship. Can I do an Erasmus+ internship instead?
In order for your Erasmus+ internship to be counted as your compulsory internship, you need the approval of your department. Please get in touch with your department and the Erasmus Office before the application.

Will I receive an official document about my Erasmus+ participation?
Yes. Upon your request, the Erasmus office can provide you with a Participation Certificate.
