Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary engineering branch that establishes a meaningful integrity between mechanical science, electronics and computer science in order to create an intelligent machine. Mechatronic products consist of a combination of mechanisms, actuators, sensors, computers and control algorithms. The fact that many mechanical functions are realized electronically gives mechatronic products a very flexible structure. Thanks to this flexible structure, mechatronic products can be redesigned and programmed much more easily, can apply distributed control to even more complex systems, can automatically collect data and report this data. Thanks to the advantages of mechatronic design, intelligent products have begun to be produced in recent years. For this reason, it is clear that mechatronic engineers and technicians will be needed intensively today and in the future. The Electronics and Automation Department, Mechatronics program, which opened in 2011 with a normal curriculum, is the newest department of our school. As of the 2024-2025 academic year, there are 1 Lecturer and 2 instructors in the department, with a total of 96 registered students.
