The dining hall staff of our university returned with 4 medals from the International Istanbul Culinary Days Competition, which was awarded the title of 'intercontinental' by the World Association of Chefs (WACS) with the slogan “Taste of the World is Here”.
In the 20th International Istanbul Culinary Days Competition organized by the Turkish Federation of Chefs and Chefs (TASFED) with the participation of 1,500 competitors in 78 different categories from 30 countries and 70 special juries, our University Chef Caner GÜNDOĞDU and Chef Muhammet Emin BİLGİN won gold medals in the “Masters Lamb Category”, Chef Ahmet Aksakal won silver medals in the “Masters Fish Category” and Chef Fahrettin Akyıldız won bronze medals in the “Masters Dessert Category”.
Chef Muhammet Emin Bilgin, who won the gold medal by making 'Lamb Küşleme' in the Masters Lamb Category in the competition and made a statement on behalf of his teammates, said, “As the cafeteria staff of Necmettin Erbakan University, their professional knowledge is at a high level and they participated in the competition in order to develop and register this knowledge with the chef's plate, ”We are an experienced team in terms of profession, we prepare delicious and healthy meals for thousands of staff and students every day. It took some courage to enter such a competition among the masters and cooks who prepared the chef plates. We prepared for the competition with the encouragement and encouragement of our administrators and with the awareness of the responsibility of representing our University. With the valuable contributions of the Head of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Seçim, we carried out plate studies in the gastronomy kitchen of our University. With the contributions of our professors, we had the opportunity to improve ourselves in chef plates. As a reflection of the cooperation of our two administrative and academic units, we won medals by further developing and transforming the plates we worked on in the competition. We are very happy to represent our university properly.”
The meals at our university are cooked by medal-winning cooks.
Stating that the competition gave them a different perspective professionally, BİLGİN said, “In the following period, we will participate in different competitions as cafeteria staff and represent our university with our achievements.
