Faculty of Dentistry

Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Dentistry is a public faculty established in 2012. The faculty began its undergraduate program in the 2012-2013 academic year with a total of 60 students and graduated its first cohort at the end of the 2017-2018 academic year. The five-year dental education program includes a three-year preclinical curriculum covering basic medical sciences as well as theoretical and practical dentistry courses. In the 4th and 5th years, students additionally receive clinical training and hands-on courses with real patients.

Education is provided in eight clinical departments: Oral, Dental, and Maxillofacial Radiology; Oral, Dental, and Maxillofacial Surgery; Pedodontics; Endodontics; Orthodontics; Periodontology; Prosthodontics; and Restorative Dentistry. These departments are staffed with a highly competent academic team, providing contemporary knowledge and skills, fostering research capabilities, and cultivating both national and international vision.

Our preclinical and simulation laboratories are designed according to the latest technological developments, allowing students to receive modern preclinical training simultaneously. Through cameras installed at the instructor’s desk, students can observe their instructors’ practical applications in real time on personal monitors. In our simulation labs, students complete preclinical practical training on individual modern phantom units across various dental disciplines and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to treat patients under the supervision of faculty members. For contemporary clinical education, our faculty is equipped with state-of-the-art dental units, radiological imaging devices, and specialty-specific instruments and materials.
