Seminar on Anthrax

Anthrax is a rare but important disease caused by a bacterium called Bacillus anthracis. Bacillus anthracis is a spore-forming bacterium. It normally affects mainly livestock and wild animals. However, people can become infected through direct or indirect contact with sick animals. Our students living in Ereğli district, which is at the forefront of animal husbandry, were given a seminar on anthrax. In the presentations prepared by our students in the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program, the signs, symptoms and prevention methods of anthrax disease were explained.
