On the night of July 15th, our nation made history with its courage, faith and steadfast stance. Our saintly martyrs and self-sacrificing veterans who sacrificed their lives that night have become the strongest symbols of our nation's will for independence. This meaningful day is an opportunity both to keep their cherished memory alive and to commemorate their sacrifice with gratitude. We commemorate with mercy and gratitude all our martyrs, especially the hero Ömer Halisdemir, who gave their lives for the sake of this homeland. Our martyrs will always live in our hearts; our nation will continue to raise many Ömer to follow in their footsteps.
